The Glasgow band have been on my radar, I’m ashamed to say, since they supported Kaiser Chiefs in February. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch them, and I regret it so much. Their debut is bristling with energy, and I thought I would share the first two tracks to persuade you to buy it. Hey Everyone is an epic intro, with clashing guitars, fast licks and as much distortion and feedback as possible. It moves to the first song, with the whole band screaming their name “Da-na-na-na-na-kroyd!” Aggressive pumping guitars accompany the dueling vocalists. It’s frantic, fun and this album proves that they are the most energetic band around. It’s my album of the year, so far.
